Hello, and welcome to the Renaissance English History Podcast! I’m your host, Heather Teysko!
The big news of the year is that we are launching a tour company, bigworld, to offer historical tours of England. Our first tour in the Spring of 2016 is a 9 day tour focused on the choral tradition of England, and we will attend choral evensong services at a number of beautiful cathedrals such as Ely, Bath and Winchester, with other visits to Cambridge and Oxford, among others. For full details and itinerary, go to http://www.bigworld.com. We can’t wait to travel with you!

I started the Renaissance English History Podcast in 2009 because I wanted to learn about podcasting. My love of English and Tudor history goes back to when I first started singing early music in high school and college choirs, and after university I packed up and moved to England to immerse myself in the history. I spent weekends using my Young Persons’ Railcard to go to places like Winchester, Scarborough, Glastonbury, Nottingham, Hastings…places I’d read about…and I would go to choral evensong services at King’s College Chapel or Westminster Abbey each week…simply put, I absorbed all the history around me.
Now, a decade and a half later, I am living in Spain with my husband and babygirl, and I write about things that are important to me on my blogs (history, travel, music, and being a voice for infertility struggles).
I love sharing my love of British history with listeners, and I love hearing from people. Please keep in touch through following me on twitter (@teysko), liking the page on facebook, or simply dropping me an email. Thanks so much for the listenership and support…this podcast now gets well over 120,000 downloads/month, and it thrills me to know that I’m able to share my love of medieval and Renaissance history with so many people. Thank you for being part of this journey!
